Vintage 1956 Guild "The Spice Chest" Tube Radio AM Model 484 Tested Working
Very good original condition with some minor scratches from age, Original patina, tested working!
The Spice Radio, model no. 484, produced by the Guild Radio & Television Co. beginning in the late 50s. This one is roughly 11" wide by 13-1/2" tall by 7" deep. These radios receive AM signals only, but there is an accessory plug in the back that I think is for headphones or an exterior speaker. This one has the shuttered doors. All original, including the wood knobs. The wood cabinet is in excellent condition with a good finish and just a few nicks, The base plate screws are secure. The glass dial is in very good condition with no breaks and the tuning dial works smoothly. The radio warms up quickly and the sound is decent, but there is a low hum that you can hear at lower volumes. The Treble/Bass adjustment works properly.
The cord is original and in good condition. The shutters and drawers are solid and square. The wooden cabinet has not been cleaned to preserve the patina, but should clean up well if so desired. From a large collection, please check other listings.
