Real wood neck shims. We've seen cardboard, plastic, even cut up credit cards used as neck shims on beautiful vintage guitars! Stop using garbage for neck shims. Commercial neck shims are very expensive. We offer reasonably priced real wood neck shims. We have various assorted dark woods and light woods available. We use finely shaved real wood shims in our luthier shop and we chose to make them available for purchase in our store and online.

Approximate sizes:
Neck shim size: 2 1/4" x 3 1/8"
Nut shim size: 1/4" x 2"
Saddle shim size:.1/8"x 2 7/8"
1/4" is just for reference, some are 3/16, some maybe 5/16th. Sizes, thickness, will vary slightly.
The auction is for 5) wood neck shims, 5) wood nut shims and 5) wood saddle shims.
For each single auction purchase the buyer will receive a total of 15 shims. These are wafer thin real wood shims. We use rosewood, koa, sapele mahogany, spruce, maple and other real woods, depending on what we have available in the shop. They are shaved very thin, rough cut (not square) and not perfect. Some will vary in width, shade, grain, etc. They are about 1/40 to 1/42 of an inch thick. For example, five shims layered together gives a thickness of about 1/8". They can be trimmed to fit your project. If you need a thicker shim, they can be glued together, layered, graduated, and or sanded for your needs. For example; if you cut one neck shim in half, glue that half to a full size shim, sand the middle edge, you now have a graduated shim. We find them very useful for custom guitar projects, setups and repairs. If you need other sizes, let us know we have various sizes and woods available, check our other listings.
