RCA VICTOR MID CENTURY RETRO
tube bakelite AM radio in
FANTASTIC
working condition. The model number on this Striking looking radio is 1-X-51 & it was produced in the 1955 era. This was a popular radio when it was introduced in
1955 & still is a fairly popular radio by today's standards.
THIS VINTAGE MID CENTURY RETRO SUPER COOL LOOKING RCA VICTOR RADIO JUST HAS THE NICE LOOK OF A MID CENTURY MODERNISM THAT JUST AMAZING IN LOOKS & IT'S WORKING CONDITION.
The cabinet on this Beauty is made of bakelite or thick plastic & it is a deep rich dark chocolate brown in color. The cabinet is free from cracks, chips but does have a few light scratches at best.
This radio has been cleaned inside & out & then Nicely polished which still retains it's original sheen or shine & that shine is now a MIRROR GLASS SHINE that keeps going & going & going like the Energizer Bunny:>)
The Large Gold tone front Tuning knob is in fantastic looking condition that adds a very nice touch to the style of the cabinet. This is Fabulous looking radio that I have taken many pictures of & all pictures can be supersized so you may get a good view at this Spectacular Super Cool looking Mid Century & Great working radio.
The AM dial scale with Gold lettering is clean & clear with no cracks. There is a nice bright working dial light & when the radios is powered on the dial scale & clear dial pointer produces a Cool looking
REDISH GLOW
. The 1 brown plastic
control knob on the right side is ON/OFF/VOLUME is original & in Excellent looking & working condition. There back panel is in great condition that holds on by 4-Clips. The loop antenna system mounts onto the inside of the back panel it is in great working condition which needs no additional antenna wire to receive Great AM reception.
The chassis is in great condition & it is a All American 5-tube unit with 2-controls & both controls have been lubricated & are in great working condition.The tube line up is One-35W4, One-50C5, One-12AV6, One-12BA6 & One-12BE6. The chassis has had all new electrolytic capacitor/filters installed & all wax/paper capacitors were replaced & a nice electric cord has been installed. This radio has been restored to
great
working condition.
There is a service/repair tag tied onto the back panel stating this radio was previously serviced back in Aug-14-1981.
When this Beautiful & Stunning looking RCA VICTOR is powered up, it pulls in Many AM stations in my area & plays them clean & clear with plenty of volume & good tone quality.
Now with all this being said this is a vintage piece of electronics that works well but with all my vintage electronics it is being Sold in

This is a vintage radio & must be handled & cared for & treated in this manor & not like a modern day boombox. Tube radio technology "unlike modern day solid state radios" can have interference/noise in the sound quality, caused by kitchen appliances, computer monitors, flat screen TV'S, florescent lights, washing machines, high power wires above your home, etc... So where you position/place this radio in your home can make a huge difference & the direction/position it is set in. A lot of tube radios are "Directional" meaning you "may" have to turn the radio one way or the other to receive the best reception.
Tube radio usually take 30 to 45 seconds after they have been turned/powered ON before they will start playing as the tubes have to warm up.
