    Description

    Permatex Supra Copper Copper Gasket
    New and in stock
    Characteristics
    :
TECHNICAL DATA BENEFITS - High temperature resistance - Increased oil resistance - Harmless to sensors and probes, non-corrosive - Good adhesion and flexibility - Replaces most damaged gaskets - Can be used as gasket material new or for damaged gasket repair - Flame retardant, non-toxic - Minimal odors APPLICATIONS - Exhaust manifolds - Thermostat housings - Valve covers - Timing gear covers - Differential covers - Water pumps USE For gasket assembly “trained on the spot” 1. Remove any previous material on the mating surfaces. 2. For best results, clean and dry all surfaces with a residue-free solvent. 3. Cut the nozzle to obtain the desired net width: 2 to 6 mm in diameter. A 4mm thread is usually sufficient for most applications. 4. Remove cap, puncture sealant tube or cartridge, and attach nozzle extension. 5. Apply a continuous, even bead of silicone to one of the two surfaces, drawing first the central joint area, then all the bolt hole outlines 6. Assemble the parts immediately while the silicone is still fresh. 7. Tighten the flange by hand until the silicone just begins to show under the edges of the flange but no more. 8. Wait at least two hours for the product to set then tighten at least a quarter turn but no more than a half turn. 9. For best results, allow product to set for 24 hours.
To make a repair joint 1. Repeat steps 1 through 4 from the previous section. 2. Apply a thin film of silicone to one of the gasket surfaces. 3. Place the pre-cut seal on the silicone film. 4. Apply a second film of similar silicone to the surface of the pre-cut joint. 5. Remove any excess product and assemble the parts immediately. Note: This product is not recommended for use as a head gasket or head gasket sealant. Storing Unused Product Form a “silicone plug” by letting excess product escaping from the nozzle extension vulcanize and thus form a moisture barrier seal for unused product. To reuse the product, simply remove the excess vulcanized product on the nozzle. For cleaning 1. Remove any uncured product from parts and tools using Permatex Fast Orange Wipes and Fast Orange Hand Cleaners. If a crust has formed, break the film with a dry cloth to remove as much product as possible. Remove excess material with joint remover. 2. Clean hands with a dry cloth or with Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner.
