Antique Coca-Cola Photograph

Coca-Cola original photograph. Circa 1926. This is a photo comp used to produce printed items for the Coca-Cola Company. This photo, measuring 8 x 10 inches, appears to be for a cardboard sign. The "Refreshing as a morning dip" slogan, according to Petretti's price guide dates this photo to 1935, however, I believe this photo dates the slogan to circa 1926. The advertising agency would hire models and take photographs to be used in Coca-Cola advertising. Original photographs, like this one, were then hand painted and the painted artwork, not the original photograph, would be used to lithograph or "print" on Coca-Cola advertising pieces. Examples of these advertising pieces would be things like calendars, trays, cardboard signs, cardboard cutouts, magazine ads, etc.  I do not know if this image was ever produced or if it even exists today?  This item is interesting and historic.
