    Description

2002 Ducati 998, mostly original with only 6376 miles. I purchased the bike in 2014 with 5800 miles on the odometer. It was living room art for the most part, ridden only a few weekends. I sold it to a friend in 2016, he rode the bike a handful of times and it's been parked in my garage or living room since. This is an honest bike with only 6376 ORIGINIAL miles -- I'm sure of that. All the hardware is original and correct, it's clear the bike was well maintained by me and the previous owner.
In 2014, I purchased/installed a new 50 mm 998R Akrapovic half system. This required the extremely rare 45mm to 50mm Termignoni half system. The exhaust is beautiful quality and sounds even better. Front pads have been replaced, Dunlop Q's are brand new front and back with zero miles. In 2016, new timing belts and valve lash set at 6125 miles (receipts and before/after clearance sheet available). New battery installed 2 years ago and has sat on a tender since new. Ducati Performance rear stand included.
This is a 20 year old bike with typical signs of use, but it is a very good example of a classic Ducati. The front wheel has a minor flat spot from a pot hole (pictured) but it does not vibrate and it has held pressure without issue. This was a living room piece for me so it wasn't high priority to correct. One fairing has minor scratches from removal (previous owner), not a tip-over. Common to this era Ducati 998/996/916, the OEM steering damper worn a bit of paint away from the tank. The chain and sprockets are original and fully functional, but for aesthetic reasons they could be replaced.
Starts and runs flawlessly. It's at my house, I know the history of the bike, so I'm selling for the current owner. I can assist with shipping if necessary.
