    Description

1956 MOTOROLA 56M1, CHASSIS HS-535 TUBE PORTABLE RADIO, YELLOW & CHROME GRILL
These radios represent the tail end of tube type radios built in the U.S. and are said to be about as efficiently designed and built as tube radios ever got to be. They have few components, yet work quite well. Printed circuit boards were used and were still a new thing then.
These can be an excellent choice for a colorful collection as they were built in this style for several years, they came in a variety of colors and the cabinet designs were representative of the prevalent artistic style of the late 1950’s. Those of you who already collect these, know what I mean.
They were made to operate on batteries but could also be powered on AC with a detachable cord (not included). It has a rotatable antenna in the handle and a mono earphone jack in the front panel.
This one has not been tested (and will not be), so assume it is not working.
The photos constitute part of the description. Look carefully. PayPal is welcomed when shipped to verified addresses. Those of you who use PayPal already know that you can pay through them by credit card. Please bid only if you are serious and intend to honor your bid.
EBay calculates the shipping costs that you see in this listing. I enter the shipping weight and they come up with the cost to ship, based on my location and the destination.
For questions, contact me using "ask seller a question". Please ask your questions before bidding. We reserve the right to refuse to sell to bidders with negative or low feedback. I will not end the auction early - everyone gets a chance. We always leave appreciative Positive Feedback for all responsible auction winners! I pack and ship with care. During the 80's and early 90's, I sold antique radios by mail and shipped thousands of them and they all made it safely. (This was before eBay). Check my feedback rating. Transit times are subject to the carrier and eBay provides you with the tracking number. NO SALES TAX in my state.
