Description
This vintage RCA 5 tube AM radio, model 6-XD-5, also known as The Glendon, is a true gem for collectors. Made in the United States in 1954-55, this unit is a piece of history that showcases what looks similar to the iconic Cadillac grill design. The cabinet has paint splatter over much of it. Began working right away when plugged in and provided great sound. The tuner is attached to the knob and stuck on one channel. Sold As-Is a collectible or restorative piece.Number of Tubes

The
RCA 6-XD-5B
is an AC/DC operated 5 tube BC band receiver. BC band range is 540 to1600kHz. Has Qty(2) PM 4" speakers. Also has built-in loop antenna. Power consumption is 30 watts according to label on radio but is 35 watts according to RCA Service Data. Has audio input jack for connecting an external phonograph and a slide switch used to select either the radio or phonograph input. Both the phonograph input jack and the slide switch are located on the rear of the chassis.
